LBA Realty, located in Irvine, CA, recently commissioned PeopleSpace and LPA Architecture to erect a wall solution capable of defining, but not completely separating an informal seating area located in its below ground level corridor. The seating was needed to provide usable space for visitors that employ several conference rooms within the corridor. One of the main challenges presented was designing and engineering a wall element that was not a standard solid divider as such a solution would reduce the feeling of open space since no windows existed throughout the space.
PeopleSpace partnered with LPA architects to provide LBA Realty a unique wall solution that maintained the space’s open feeling while providing the perfect amount of privacy for guest seating within the tight budget. LPA called on PeopleSpace’s ideation lab to engineer and execute their design. The solution was a semi-open slat wall comprised of vertical stainless steel elements and maple veneer slats which provided a separation of space as well as a commitment to the open feeling of the space. PeopleSpace’s ideation lab also provided the client with solutions to cut cost without compromising the architect’s vision, all of which allowed for a unique solution on time and within budget.
